José Peña joined OLIVARES in 2018. Currently, he is a member of the Patent team, providing assessment in patent prosecution process and conducting litigations. His work also covers regulatory matters, including providing legal opinions and litigations. With respect to other areas of intellectual property, his expertise includes conducting litigations at the Mexican Patent and Trademark Office, Federal Courts of Administrative Affairs and Amparo procedures.

José is currently a member of Olivares patent department. He has also participated in administrative procedures of infringement, nullity and cancelation before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property and subsequent instances, related with the defense of trademarks and patents rights of our clients.

Likewise, he is involved in various regulatory procedures with the Agency for Consumer Protection (PROFECO), Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (by its acronym in Spanish “COFEPRIS”), including obtaining authorizations from said authorities, and litigations.
